You have our pledge. Pathfinders Birkenstock does not rent, sell, lend, or otherwise distribute your personal information to anyone for any reason. This includes your contact and credit card information, as well as specific ordering information.
We Use a Secure Server
You will notice that when you go to the Pathfinders Birkenstock order placement page the URL changes from http://… to https://… The “s” tells you that all personal data collected by Pathfinders is being handled by a secure server. You can also tell whether you’re connected to a secure server by finding the closed padlock icon in the status bar of the latest versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers. All data is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, and is then encrypted within our databases. This means your credit card number and other sensitive information is transferred through the Internet in an unreadable form, protecting your data from appropriation and misuse by other Internet users.
We Limit Data Access to “Need to Know”
Within our organization, your personal data is accessible to a limited number of employees with special access rights. Although we may, from time to time, compile general demographic information based on your order, this information is shared within our organization only and has no identifiable personal data associated with it.
We may offer you the opportunity to opt into specific services, such as a mailing list, but Pathfinders Birkenstock does not use direct email as a marketing tool.
How to Place Online Orders
Just as if you were browsing through a store, you can add items to your shopping as you click through our site. You can change or cancel your order at any time.
Once you find a style you like, go to the individual style description page and:
- Find the Material and Color you want to order.
- Choose the correct Size and Width from the pull down menus. Refer to the handy BirkiSizer™ for the correct European>American size conversion.
- Click on the Go to Payments button.
- You can then proceed to the Pathfinders Birkenstock checkout. A receipt will be automatically generated for your records.
When you click on Go to Payments, you will go to the final check out page. You need to:
- Choose a Shipping Method.
- Enter your information.
- Type comments to accompany your order, if desired.
- Select Continue
- Enter your credit card information.
- When you select Continue, your order will be sent.
- You will receive a receipt via email.
Credit Cards
We accept most major credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
Exchanges and Returns
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, shoes may be returned for exchange or store credit. NO REFUNDS. Shoes must be returned within 10 days. Shoes must be in NEW CONDITION. (Shoes that have been worn outside are not considered new.)
TO RETURN SHOES:
- Please unbuckle all of the straps
- Return shoes to us in the original shoe box and shipping container.
- Enclose a note with exchange or store credit instruction.

Birkenstocks and Your Feet
All quality footwear requires a “breaking in” period before you can feel their true comfort. They are a little stiff when new. It takes a while for them to conform to the contours of your feet. We recommend breaking in your Birkenstocks slowly by wearing them 2 to 3 hours daily. Wear them a few hours every day for one to two weeks and you will notice how the foot bed adjusts itself to the contours. Soon you will find that Birkenstocks become you!
Shipping Information
Most orders are shipped out within two business days from the time we receive your order. If an item is not in stock, we can order it, and it will be shipped out separately from the rest of your order, with no extra shipping charge. Allow an extra week for out-of-stock items.
